I've even noticed a decided lack of collector item drops, unless you count kournan necklaces.

My ele is at the Gates of Torment, she's Tyrian.
Heros: Dunkoro, Koss, Kalhkora, Master of Secrets (set to curses/blood)
Henchies: Herta, Odurra, Dervish, Paragon

My paragon (obviously Elonian) has been wandering around, unlocking towns, she's got Rihlon Refuge, but is currently on the Cemetary mission.
Heros: Koss, Dunkoro, Kalhkora, Souske
Henchies: Odurra, Herta, Dervish, Devona

My ranger is Elonian, and just completed the Consulate mission.
Heros: Dunkoro, Kahlkora, Souske (Koss-but he's .......)
Henchies: Odurra, Herta, Devona, Khim

In terms of drops, they suck. I'm lucky to even get a blue armor drop. And with the inscriptions needed for armor, and weapons, I'm finding this terribly discouraging.

Luckily, I had enough naga skins leftover from Factions to go get Koss (on 3 characters) a halfway decent shield, from a collector.....+30hp, -5dmg (20%).

I probably won't be getting many weapons crafted in Elona, since I need inscriptions for them, and about the ONLY inscription I get is the one that's vs hexed...pile of rubbish.

^^ Or while hexed. I'll make whoever thought that goddam title up "Fear the Reaper" alright. I've gotten probably a good ratio of 1:1 relating to 10^50 incsrips and worthless fear the reaper and vs hexed foes crap. I get maybe 5 of these per run, too.

I completely agree as far as the collectible drops go. I've been saving every collectible drop, and the only ones I have a ton of are the necklaces and for some odd reason Drake Claws. I think there is definately an issue with the amount of drops, not necessarily the quality of drops. Like I said before, I've had some pretty nice items drop, but the overall amount is lacking.

Now inscriptions, I'm set with inscriptions. I've got 4-5 14^50 iscriptions, 1 15^50, 2 14/enchanted, 1 +5e^50 spellcaster, a few shield/focus inscriptions and mods, and my prized 20% faster cast staff head & 20% faster recharge staff wrapping. With those last two, I plan to make a killer speed staff - though I'm not sure for which character/attribute, yet.

funny my dervish (who of course doesn't have olias yet, being still on newbie island) has had relatively good drops. And actually I have pretty good drops when I solo. But when I'm tromping across the map, I'm having a really hard time even collecting FIVE insect carapaces for the collector. I've cleared 3-4 zones 3-4x each while doing quests, always making a point to kill any insect mobs and I've collected a whole FOUR carapaces now. It was never this hard for me to collect even behemoth jaws in the crystal desert in Tyria.

Funny thing, I just realized that yesterday when I got my first gold drop of NF, I didn't have olias and his minions in my group hehe. just 3 other player and their heroes.

drops for me have been serious crap since day 1.

on my first day of starting NF i got a green drop for me and i thought great.
picked it up and checked it out..lmao..it was a 7-19 damage green hammer.

since then ive had nothing but grapes or just pure merchant stuff.

Gold? for me theres been no such thing.

even the chests just chuck out grape crap.

dye w/end was dismal...all w/end i played and all i got was 1 yellow and 1 orange dye!!!!

from sounds of it some ppl are getting increadible fortune with drops, whilst others suffer.

hmm i remember once in tyria or was it cantha where the drops were biased.

Character: Assassin
Henchies: Olias, Koss and Dunkoro

Since going to NF ive only found 2 max damage weapons and they were both purple daggers no other weapon ive found has been max damage white or otherwise.
Ive had 2 Gold drops. (1 Sup Vit and 1 Sup Scythe Mastery)
The sup vit was in the first mission from the first mob. lol

I do all quests and often clear entire areas if the going is good.

Id say besides the initial luck the drop rate has been below what it should be.

On average when I clear an area I never fill my pack and I have +- 1 purple, 2 blue and 10 white drops.

Well dont forget we all are forced to grind for sunspear points. Im sure that farming them has something to do with it. Ive finished NF with 2 chars 1 tyrian 1 elonian and my drops have never sucked as bad as much as they have. i havent gotten a elonian green yet, but went and did the kill kephyet and got her green in tyria lol. go figure.

Well dyes are completely randomn so newb island has as much chance of a dye drop as last mission. (why do you think people farm pre-searing for dyes)

Also I read in another thread somewhere about minions taking drops and Gaile asked for details and would check with the devs.
So if she thinks they might be then how can you say they don't?

It's been stated in several threads that people have noticed a much worse drop rate when using a MM (either player or hero)
than if they took a different build with the same number of party members.

Oh and you must be unlucky with your dye drops as I think I've had a total of about 25-30 black dyes drop for me since I started GW.
Got 2 in a day a few weeks back while skill capping through cantha.

Two campaigns and my ele has hardly ever had a green drop that I haven't farmed for, except Ghials with henchway (and I wasn't even trying)...

...Arrive at Yohlon, nip outside for a quick scoot around. First boss I kill drops a green vampiric bow.

I've never had any luck with black dyes, but don't care really. None of my toons look good in black.

One thing I have noticed is that my ele gets a ridiculous amount of bow drops, and almost never.. ever.. gets staves.

And on that note!! I think about 75% of the posters in my thread need to read the ORIGINAL post. This thread is NOT about me wanting more gold items, more gold, or more green items. This is about the HUGE lack of drops in general, and the poor quality of drops, even from level 24++ monsters (concerning Nightfall exclusively).

I am now actually 3 missions from endgame and have YET to get ANY max dmg/stat items whatsover. Mind you this is drops only, not chests. If i can't get a SINGLE max stat/dmg item all through the game from drops alone, something is SERIOUSLY wrong/lacking in the NF drop system. On top of poor quality the rate in general is lacking. As i have said countless times, in both previous chapters in a full henchy party, i could complete nearly ANY mission and fill my inventory to near full capacity!! Nightfall missions, i have not even come close to filling up my backpack portion of the inventory. The last 2-3 missions have netted me a grand total range of 4-6 items, all non stat items.

Seriously, though, if there are issues, we'd like to know about them and fix them, and to do that we have to replicate the issue, which requires information. I played through entire game and beat it. I have opened around 300 high end chests so far and about same number of lower end chests (all elonian). To date I have had ONE gold drop a sup FAST CASTING! Fewer than 20 golds from chests and yes I brake for ALL chests (rank 6 treasure hunter). Of those golds only 4 have not been req13. Not a flame btw because you guys did an amazing job with nighfall but this is a TAD pathetic on drops and chests. Farm code on chests is something that should be removed since it is required to get a title. Please don't tell me to do missions and quests to remove farm flags when I did every mission and quest through elonia ... helloooooo why would I have farm code. The drops have been like this since my char stepped foot in Elonia which is sad conisdering I had a better ratio of golds running chests in port sledge(title) and I had definitely earned some flags in that area. My personal favorites have been the NON max req13 purples from margonite chests! Yes I go there a lot I am working on lightbringer title (rank5 working on 6

. No offense but the cr si groups should not be able to impact the legit players working on titles. If there is anyway to correct this I would greatly appreciate being told about it.

Well my experience has been the same.. Plenty of max gold items from high end area chests but in general the mobs are pretty tight. I turned to weopon crafters and old accounts to get decent stuff for heroes. I agree with the original poster that the drops are tight.

Same problem here, I've beaten the game and only have 3 goldies, 2 of them coming of the huge amount of chests that i've been opening since the beggining of nightfall.

Playng with:
Prophecies Monk/Mesmer
Heroes: Dunkoro, Master of Whispers, Zhed or Tahlkora
Areas: Full game, specially Realm of torment

But the thing that shows how poor is the drop rate is the 4 days I've been stucked in Gates of Madness, doing the mission always with PUG's and i've only seen 2 purple dropped (none for me), and very few white and blue drop too (none key so far)

Perhaps my post was not directed at you but at the 75% of people you claim didn't read the original post.

Quick to assume that you are the ONLY person I can talk to in this Thread is simply ridiculous. Now I agree with you that the drops are very sporadic, but one thing I can clarify to YOU ALL right now is the significance in how many more items can be created from this new system. It's not as limited as it was in Prophecies or Factions. Including the fact that every Item now has a "HSR" on the top, AND the ability to be Inscribed, added MILLIONS more possibilities to the type of weapon you may get SOMEDAY. And the system is random, so the chances of YOU getting a SICK item are much lower then they were back in the old days, to keep the economy from FLOPPING like it did in Factions. The first weeekend it came out people were already LOWERING prices on the rarest drops in that expansion.

i just got a really good req 10 sythe drop in game with perfect fortitude and 15^50, but thats my first good drop i have had in elona so far, its an ornate sythe looks nice...ish.

Well Last night I completed the cemetry mission.

After all the killing I did with my Assassin
with Koss, Dunkoro, dervish Hero, the Healer henchie and the Paradon henchie
I got 1 non max purple bow, 4 blue items and 7 white.

doesnt seem worth it.
